    I have a01 dodge dakatoa I have a vacuum leak and cannot find the hose that leaking
    Can you tell me where are the hoses located on the engine I see to but I was told there were about 6 hoses on the engine I have a leak somewhere but cannot find it,2001 dodge dakata

    I have a 2001 dodge dakota which have a vacuum leak I have look around the engine cannot seem to find the leak could you tell me where are the hoses is located,help me find the leak, I also change my gas cap thinking that would solve one leak the problem thank you

    The problem may be an internal leak rather than an external one. Example: The diaphram of the EGR valve is bad.

    Generally, you can find leaks with a tachometer and carb spray. Some code readers may be able to read parameters. Sometime you can tell if the RPM changes.

    Sometimes, you can pull hoses to devices and plug them ans see if the idle smooths out.

    Power brake boosters is another place leaks occur.

    A bad PCV valve will do the same thing. If you pulled the hose to the PVC valve and plugged it, the idle would get better. Carb spray would not detect this one.
