    Brown well water problems
    Hello,

We were filling up our pool (just a small one) with our well water. After a period the water became very brown. I went into the house to check if the water coming into the house was the same. It looked to be brown a bit but then the water stopped coming. I turned the taps off everywhere and waited a couple of minutes. I turned the inside taps on and water started flowing. It is still brown though! We usually get a bit of color after the spring and during really rainy weather. This brown that was in th pool was so dark you could not see through it at all. Any ideas?

If the screens on your aerators aren't loaded with silt from the bottom of your well you're pumping iron oxcide,(rust).

Sure sound like you pumped your well dry filling the pool and what you see is coming off the bottom of the well. Give it some time to replenish and I think you'll be OK. Good luck, Tom
