My girlfriend and I have been together for 4 years, we have broken up 3 times in that time. During the beginning I lived in a house with 3 other guys in a bacholer pad environment, I broke up with her twice due to lack of maturity on my part. I since have bought a house and moved on in my ways. We got back together the last time and I began to talk about her moving in to my new home that I had purchaced and getting married etc. after all it has been 4 years, I have realized that she is everything I want in a woman. She breaks it off with me... a month later she comes back saying that the thought of me with a different woman makes her sick and she wants to start dating after practically living together... after 4 years... this is hard for me , but I love the girl so I say OK. It is now 2 months later. Everything is going well, so I one day tell her I Love her, she smiles and laughs... kind of hurts but I guess she's just not ready to say it back. We have been in love for years and she has never had a problem saying it before... so I do a test and change my Facebook status to in a relationship for all my friends to see... She does not do this?? I don't understand. There was a guy she was talking to on Facebook and skype before she left me that I had asked her about, because it made me feel uncomfortable. When we got back together I asked her about him and she says nothing going on he's engaged... checked her email and there were emails back and forth ending about the time we got back together. So what do you all think, remember please be nice I love this woman

From my own experience, when someone won't say they love you it is because they are unsure or simply not ready to say it or they are not on the same emotional level as you are.

I would give her a bit of time and then I would have a chat with her about things. I do understand that you love her, and you want to hear her say those important words back to you. You should not invest any of your emotions until you are clear where you stand, hence your confusion about what is going on.

You seem like a nice guy and want nothing more than for you and your girlfriend to be happy together. Just talk with her and sort it out for you.
