    Dryer element shuts off
    The dryer is running but when the heating element lights it doesn't stay light. What could it be?

    MC MENA- THERE is I can think of about four reasons that can cause your trouble, I will give you the most possible cause first and go back words with the causes;;1ST most possible cause;; #1-IT CAN VERY WELL BE THE {HIGH TEMP CUTOFF}{ YOU WILL FIND IT CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM IN THE CENTER <ATTACHED TO THE TOP SIDE OF THE METAL DUCt.the heating coil is IN SIDe oF:: }{NOTE - You ,will need a (VOLT -OHM METER TO DO THESE CHE KS< YOU can get one for LESS then $15.00 at home depot or Lowe's.. Ok (#2) _ SET THE VOLT-OHM METER ON THE { RX1 SCALE NOTE- IF YOU BUY ONE <GET one that you can check 220VOLTS WITH ] DISCONNECT THE ELECT.POWER CORD FROM THE RECEPTICAL<<OR AT THE MAIN POWER PANEL [TURN THE 220 volt BREAKER [WILL BE A DOUBLE BREAKER}, NOW pull the dryer out from the wall-. REMOVE the back panel then rermove both of the wires friom the {THEHEATING COIL} IS CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DRYER , in the center:: NOW lets get started testing to see if the heating coil is grounded or has a open circuit.. wires disconnected [2] now put the meter probes into the wire terminals;; note{ YOU will find the element inside a metal duct} IF the meter reads 8 to 20 OHMS the coil is good if the meter reads
    HIGHER THEN THE heater coil has a open circuit;;[ #3] TO TEST THE HEATER FOR GROUNDING- #1- LEAVE ONE Of THE METER probes in the heater terminals AND TOUCH THE OTHER PROBE TO THE METAL DUCT -IF the meter reads HIGH it is OK if it swings toward LOW then the heater is grounded and needs to be replsaced;; { NOTE] now lets
    Test the OVER heat protector to see if it is good;; SET THE METER TO THE {RX- SCALE}
    DIOSCONNECT one of the wires and TOUCH ONE OF THE PROBES TO THE WIRE TERMINALand the other meter probe to the top of the metal duct the coil is in ;; IF the meter reads " o " OHMsPROTECTOR is good if it reads higher then it is faulty and needs to be replaced:: SORRY ITS getting pretty late and ,I will finish this tomorrow night ;; Have a great night and a better tomorrow; AND GOD BLESS::: F.B.E.
