Casablanca Ceiling Fan will not Power on

I have a Casablanca ceiling fan and the fan will not go on using the IntelliTouch Switch. I first checked the circuit breaker to make sure it was not tripped. I then replaced the switch thinking that was the problem, it wasn't. Any thoughts on what else could be the problem? Thank you in advance.

I installed an upgrade kit following the directions EXACTLY ! When I turned it on the light worked fine but when I turned on the fan it started to spin but the light also started to spin in the OPPOSITE direction. What did I do wrong? It is controlled by a intel-touch wall control.
