Maytag Performa item #PYET344AYW auto dry function doesn't work.

As stated above, my electric dryer doesn't work when I use the Auto Dry function. It does get hot, but the cycle never ends. The timed mode still functions properly. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it? I tried the search funchion, but all of the answers were from 4 years ago for a different model.
