    1998 honda accord idles rough and when I give it gas above 2000 rpm it drops
    I just changed the throttle body gasket on a 1998 honda accord now when I turned the car back on it idles rough and when I give it gas above 2000 rpm it drops back to 1000.

    . Clean throttle plate and throttle body.

    . Clean Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) and upper and lower ports:

    Ensure the problem is not related to a failing Ignition Control Module (ICM). If the problem persists, change the ICM and coil:

    I figured it out. When I put it all back togeather I accidentally put the map connector on the tps sensor and the tps connector on the map sensor. Thanks for your help though.
