New wife tells me that too much is not good for my health
Being a guy, we are happy to have sex every day, if your wife is happy to respond. My new wife is fairly obliging however always tries to tell me that too much sex is not good for my health. Is this just a way of trying to avoid sex or does she have a valid point to make? I always thought it was good exercise. What is your view on this?

It's a myth. Ejaculation is actually healthy for the prostate gland.

Mind you, she is Chinese and as such I have observed that Chinese people tend to have odd notions about some things in life.

Have you asked her why she thinks that? Maybe knowing where her view comes from would help you understand, or disprove, it. It may be an old wives tale, or part of chinese medicine, or a hundred other things.

Nothing wrong with sex almost every day, as long as it does not get into a rut, and you make sure that most of the time you are making love, not merely having sex.

Do you take the time to make sure that she is also pleased.

Ah well there's the thing you see. She used to work in a hospital in China and maintain she has seen too many infections that can happen. I want to make more of it to please her, but she thinks sex is sex. Sex in a couple of positions, then she wants to sleep. She thinks oral is dirty and full of germs, 'a different place'. Tried to convince her otherwise, but no go. Always with a condom and I am not allowed to touch in case of germs even though we have always just come out of the shower.

When I say 'not allowed to touch', I don't mean not allowed to touch her, I mean she doesn't want me to touch her vagina or my penis after the condom is on.

This is a cultural thing. Chances are you are not going to convince her otherwise.

Is she a germaphobe in other situations? Or is it just regarding sex?

Then it's probably not something you're going to get her compromise on. Germaphobia, especially at the level you described, is a psychological disorder. Sometimes it can be managed with therapy, but often it's just something the individual learns to live with.
