    Roommate issues
My roommate is violating the lease in more ways than one and I don't know what to do. It is just her and I listed on the lease, but her boyfriend is living with us and I'm still paying half the rent. They also have a dog, which is not allowed in our apartment. Plus, they have a waterbed, which isn't insured and only allowed in the apartment if it is insured. Every time her and her boyfriend get in an argument, she blames everything on me and in turn starts fights with me. I have kept the peace long enough. I notified our landlord of the unlivable situation in July 2006. She suggested a meeting, which never happened. I called to follow up, only to get the response that my roommate had not returned her call. She leaves abusive messages on my voicemail and threatens me. Telling me that I can't say anything or we'll both be evicted. I don't want an eviction on my record. How do I get out of this situation? Our lease isn't up until April 31st, 2007.

So you get evicted, so what, honestly no one cares down the road.

Report her, and report her to the landlord, it is the landlords duty to evict them, Make sure the landlord knows that you are not responsible for any damage they do or the waterbed does.

Since you are both on the lease, only the landlord can evict one or both of you. As Chuck pointed out, an eviction is unlikely to affect you long term. You need to document the violations and have your own meeting with the landlord. But if the landlord won't do anything, then your only choice is to live with it or move.
