Carrier furnace model 394JAZ060080AAFA blower problem
Carrier furnace model 394JAZ060080AAFA ( about 19 years old)

Fan (blower) comes on for two more short bursts after it shuts off during a heat cycle. I tried replacing the thermostat, but this was not the problem.

This is not stopping me from getting heat (yet), but it is annoying.

    Any ideas? Time delay? Or?

Usually that is caused by residual heat that builds up after the blower shuts off the first time after a heat cycle. A fan/limit OR fan control is possibly the problem. If they go out of calibration then they shut off to soon allowing the residual heat situatioin to happen. Naturally I am sure that you already checked ALL the registers in the home are open and the air filter is clean with no restrictions since this can also cause a problem.

Carrier furnace problem [ 5 Answers ]

My carrier furnace would only come on if I shut down the main power then turned it back on. Then after it got up to the proper temperature it would shut off but not come back on. Now it won't come on at all. I just replaced the control board and it is doing the same thing.
