My carrier furnace would only come on if I shut down the main power then turned it back on. Then after it got up to the proper temperature it would shut off but not come back on. Now it won't come on at all. I just replaced the control board and it is doing the same thing.

It is possible the drain system is plugged up. It is common on carrier furnaces for the drain trap to fill with a slim or scum which will cause poor drainage. The furnace produces water as it burns so when it starts it will run until the drain backs up then it will go into lockout.

Thanks for the advice. I took the drain deal off and it was full of bugs and sludge. I tried it again but has the same symptoms. I can shut off the power for a while Then it will start and run until it gets to the proper temp then won't start on its own. After reading some of these other problems that other people have and like you said it is probably getting locked out. I have some electronics experience but only on sonars. Is there a way to narrow the fault down? I took the orange wire off the lock out device and heard it click probably a relay. I replaced the squirel cage on then inducer motor last year and the control baord. The model number is 58dx-060.

I thought the drain cleaning was a good idea. Many good ideas don't work. OK, at the furnace check for 24 volts AC between the red and white wire. If not, check for red to com. If not, could be a fuse, loose connection, or a bad transformer. If you have power, jumper the red and white. If the furnace starts up the problem is in thermostat or wiring. If the inducer motor doesn't come on, check the wiring to it.

Does this model have a small black box inside the upper half of the furnace that says lock out timer on it? If it does that may be the issue. Carrier furnaces are one of the most complicated furnaces made, you may be better off to have a technician look at it. I have fought with some before and found that control to have a short on it, the inducer motors can actually slow down over time, control boards can do some weird things too. I would also check the exhaust pipes to make sure the water is draining from it. If you have too much water it will also go into a lock out.

My furnace was turning on for about 2 minutes and then would shut off the burners and the blower would keep running. Now the blower runs non stop and the led blinks a 33 code which is for roll out switch or limit switch. I changed the limit switch and checked the pressure switch it's fine what could it be?
