    Log on as administrator
Widows 7 Professional. I am the only account listed and it shows that I am the administrator, but when I go to delete a file or folder, it says I need permission... Log on as administrator. I have tried every way I can think of, all I can find is that I need to go to User accounts and I have done that and it shows that I am the administrator, but I still can't delete a folder or file. Help please.

Sounds you have the nag enabled.
This can be adjusted in User account control.
Just search UAC and adjust the slider as required.

Just before you replied, I did 2 things. One was to adjust the user control and the second one was to install a password when I booted up. I didn't have one before. I rebooted machine, entered my password and I was able to delete the folder. I am not sure which one made it possible, but it works OK now. Thank You.
