I googled Meter-U and didn't expect to come up with much. There are many websites that indicate they are a franchise and you have to pay a fee of around $500 which is reimbursed back to you through salary. It is a meter reading business with a hand held computer for utlities (in the UK).

This website is an eyeopener though and you should ask a lot of questions before handing over money. I would check your equivalent of the Better Business Bureau in the UK to see if they are registered. It doesn't sound hokey because in Ontario we have this service but the workers belong to a utility company and most of our meters are on the outside of our houses now (before they had to enter to read meters in the basement).

If you can't access my url, then cut and paste so you can read some of the comments people like you have made regarding this franchise company.
