    Install new ceiling fan light
    I have a couple of outlets, there's a rotary type dimmer switch on the wall that fully controls the outlet.. Can I grab power from switch for new switch so I can turn the light on and off. And control the fan with the pull chain. Ther's 2 wire coming in to existing switch black and white

    1. You have a dimmer controlling outlets?
    2. What wires are at the switch?
    3. Are there already any wires where you plan to install the fan?

    We bought the house this way. We have a lamp pluged into the outlet for now, wich is controlled by the switch. One cable coming in 12/2 romex.And no wire for the fan/light. I've drilled the hole for it though. Thanks for the help

    If there are only two wires coming into the switch box, you can't grab power there. How many wires come in at the outlet?
