    2009 tax filing-forgot to attach 8843 with 1040NR-EZ
    Hi,
I am on F-1 student visa and entered US on August 2009. I have been working on campus since then. Since there was an income during 2009 yr, I filed 1040NR-EZ form. But I forgot to attach the 8843 form along with it.

Can I just resend the 8843 form separately for 2009?

    Need some guidance. Please help.

Thanks for the timely response. I have been hearing some people say that 1040NR-EZ contains the same information that the 8843 contains, and hence it is not necessary to send both. Is that true?

    You need to send both.

The IRS will NOT notify you about the failure to submit Form 8843, but the requirement still exists.

Complete a Form 8843 for 2009, sign the second page and mail it to the IRS facility in Austin, Texas.
