Frost free hose bib is being stingy! It's a "Legend T-550", two years old. Something gave out over the winter -- now, when turned fully "on" I get a puny trickle. What can we do, short of completely replacing the thiing?

I would check inside to make sure the hose bibb didn't freeze and burst over the winter. If it burst, you will only get a small trickle of water outside, while the rest of the water is running inside. If this is the case, the only option is to replace the complete hose bib.

FPFalcon - Did you ever correct this problem? I seem to be having a similar issue with my outside hose bib. It's a Legend too... I just can't recall the model

Some frost free sillcocks have a spring towards the inside end of the shaft. If you can shut the water off to it, take the shaft out, and see if there is a spring at the end of it. If so, spray with WD40 and try it out! YOu could also run some water through the sillcock with the shaft out to make sure you have good pressure to the faucet.

Most of the Legend FF hose bibbs rely on a easily replaceable 1/4 turn ceramic cartridge.

Replacement is as easy as loosening the packing nut and pulling out the stem -- The cartridge is at the end of the stem.

Just FYI. Legend has so many series of FF hose bibs that a lot of supply houses are just carrying the latest model. I had no luck tracking down replacement parts for a 2 yr old Legend 550 and had to replace entire hose bib.
