Partial year abroad housing/living expenses deductions
I am a US citizen who spend 4 months working in a foreign country as an independent contractor (I have rent receipts).

The IRS says that I need to be out of the country for 330 days to be eligible for either a housing deduction or a living expense deduction, but other people have told me that that I can deduct my living expenses and housing.

    I am confused.

Is their a form for a partial year deductions for foreign housing and living expenses?

    Thank you!

You may be able to claim travel expenses --travel expenses include transportation, lodging and meals on schedule C or C-EZ if you had your home in the U.S.
