I'm ready to install electric boilers in my shop that has not been wired yet. The boilers require 80/80 and 60/30 amps according to manufacturer literature. Does this mean that I need 250 amps plus normal lights/welder/compressor draws? Like 350amp service? Does the service have to be able to handle a worst case amperage draw?

Are two amperages listed for different voltages?

What is the supply voltage? Single or 3 phase?

The service size needs to be 25% larger than the total connected load, plus room for future capacity.

I assume that the 80/80 is in reference to staged elements. 80 amp draw for first and then continued 80 for additional elements. The same for the 60/30

Two boilers will be used one 31kw the other 13 kw.

Supply will be 240 single phase for both boilers

If you use a 400 amp service, using a 320 amp meter, don't ask take my word for it, then the boilers running together will use 183 amps, leaving 136 amps for the remaining load. The remaining load really should be totaled to be sure this is enough.
