I had a bill that went to a credit agency.
I had a bill that went to a credit agency, they called and we agreed on a payout. I waited until and received a letter from the agency stating our agreed payout which I promptly paid. Weeks later they contacted me to say they made a mistake and I still owe the balance, can they do this?

    Hi, newtothis857!

Do you know who you spoke with at the company to make the payout agreement? If you do, I would suggest calling that person and telling them about them contacting you about a mistake.

After all, you did get something in writing concerning an agreed payout.

Did you get the new information as documentation in writing from them?

    Thanks!

The original person called me and told me she made an error, now when I ask for her they direct me to someone else. I do have the old agreement from them as well as the new letter that has a title, 'error and ommision'.
