    Goodman gas pac pgb0300751won't ignite
    Goodman PGB 030075-1

Previously when it would come on it would make a deep electrical buzz for a few minutes as if it is warming up, then I could hear the gas ignite and there would be a steam coming up for a few seconds out of its vent and then the fan would kick on.

Last night it didn't come on. I get the buzz and nothing more. It never kicks on.

When I looked at the thermostat panel, it said 'recovery'. I have no idea what that is.

I turned the system off and even turned off the breaker and then turned it back on.

    Still nothing.

I am guessing that the ignitor switch is not working or something similar isn't doing it job.

Suggestions? I generally am good at repairing things if I know what is wrong.

Pull the door/cover,whatch and see if the igniter comes on when it should or at all, if not be very careful when removing igniter as they are very fragile,if bad you will see a white or light grey spot on the igniter or might even see a crack that shouldn`t be there, when replacing be careful not to touch the part that glows with bare hands, the oil and salt from your skin can shorten the life by a whole bunch

    Thanks for the help.

Oddly, later that day I turned the furnace on to see what was going on inside (like above) and I went online to see where things were so I didn't take to many panels off unnecessarily. While I was online, the fan came on. It took about 5-7 minutes to kick on.

I have a feeling that the past ice storm had some ice or something in the unit and maybe a valve or something froze and didn't allow gas to go in thus not igniting.

If anyone knows if these units are suppose to make the buzzing noise for so long, let me know, or is the unit about to die on me. It is a gas pack, the big jumbo unit with fan/ac plus the gas heater unit on the side.
It was made in 1994 - per the label. I bought the house 5 years ago.

Is there a better unit if it ever needs replacing??
