Resident Alien (International Student), can I obtain these benefits ?

From using TurboTax, it automatically reported these credits...

    - American Opportunity Credit ($418)
    - Making Work Pay Credit ($800)

I'm wondering if it's OK to receive them as international student, but I am resident-alien for tax purpose...

    Thanks

    I live in Atlanta.

If you can file as resident alien, which you claim you can, yes you can get these benefits.

    Thanks for the answer.
I'm double checking with school before I file that tax form..

When I checked IRS, or other documents,
The condition of getting those benefits is

"United States citizen or Resident Aliens".

At first, I got confused if "resident aliens" only referred to permanent residents with green cards..

But since they didn't say permanent residents, I guess I'm included..

    Thanks

Please do not make guesses. You may not be resident.
What visa do you have? When did you come enter the U.S.
