Is it illegal in Onatario for anyone to conduct any type of business after being released from hospital and have been given morphine for use in pain
.My mother who is a senior went to her bank and withdrew all her funds while under the influence of narcotic meds. She is 80 yrs .old frail and most times in need of help.
Two days after hopital release she was re admitted to hopital again. She is getting some memory back but can't seem to remember why monies came out of her account.

I don't really think there are any laws in place unless she was targeted with fraud by someone and found her very vulnerable. But as she didn't have any memory at the time I don't know how you are going to find out where her money went.

No, not illegal, she took money out of the bank under her own power, whether on morphine . Morphine can confuse.

How was it that she was alone at the time and in need of assistance in her condition ?

If she took the money in cash you can always attempt to retrack her steps but it will be almost impossible.

If it's checks, of course, it's a different story and easy to trace.

If she cannot handle her own affairs you MUST get legal help for her or a P/A.

Sounds like a difficult situation - we went through something similar with my mother and ended up in Court obtaining a P/A.
