    Unpaid credit card
I owed a credit card company while I was in Singapore, and failed to pay it off. Now after 7 years, I received a notice that I need to pay it. And it has accumulated over the years, which is really a huge amount. They threatening a lawsuit. What should I do or what can I do?

Try to call them and work out a minimum payment and ask that some of the fees be reduced and/or waived. Call them a few times about it, and if they won't negotiate, you may have to see if you qualify for BK to stop the lawsuit.

Thank you very much for your reply. My mother in the Philippines actually received the notice. I'm in the US now and awaiting for my green card which was delayed due to visa availability. Will it affect my green card application?
