3 year olds like to assert their independence, big time!

If you allow her a little control over the situation, for example, let her pick the shampoo or fun soaps for the bath,a toy that she can take into the bath... if you don't have a shower, maybe a hose type of connection on the tap of the bath might be easier.

Hair clips, and a wide brush, let her do most of the brushing and you 'finish' it off,if possible let her pick the hair clips, lots of conditioner will help take out tangles.

Let her bath her dolls,teddies... go through the whole bath experience with her and the dolls, and make it fun.

Get into the bath with her?

I checked out a few sites, but could not find anything helpful for you.

I can suggest a book by miriam stoppard 'child rearing 0-6',its quite good, and possibly you could Google the book.

Although its obvious,I thought I should mention that never to leave her on her own in the tub.

For now you might want to trim her hair a bit shorter so it won't get tangled so much and the hair brushing won't be such a chore to her or you.

As far as hair washing... you could get one of those shower extension hook ups and have her sit in the bathtub and hose off her hair that way.

My son hated to take a bath or have his hair washed as he would get ear infections from water getting into his ear. I would have to get in the tub with him and almost be drowned by him when he would rear back trying to get away when my husband would rinse his hair. I'm still wondering just how I survived his childhood...

For my little brother, I had to put on a swimsuit, climb in, and pretend it was bubbly swimming. It worked

Welcome to 3 and 4 year olds, but the great news, it only gets worst.

I tried all these measures and nothing has worked to make her stop screaming when trying to get my three-year-old in the bath or combing her hair. When she was 2, she didn't like them, but it was certainly easier to convince her. Now, I have resorted to telling her that the bugs will get her and if she doesn't take a bath, we have to stay home so we can stay near soap and water, to get the bugs off her. It works with her teeth! This got her thinking at least, but she is not yet convinced. LOL
