Ceiling fan shuts off after 5 minutes and light comes on
I have a Hunter ceiling fan with remote. Model # 23457-380. When I turn on the fan it works for about 5 minutes then shuts off and the light turns on. I have it wired black to black, white to white, and the red from the ceiling capped off. The fan is about 6 yrs old

OK "and the red from the ceiling capped off" needs to be explained. Is there a second switch, 3 way, somewhere? " black to black, white to white," tells us how you wired the supply cable to the receiver, how did you wire the out going feed from the receiver to the fan and light?

Yes there is a second switch for the light. Coming out of the fan are only black, white, and ground. I believe the remote receiver is in the light housing and connects to the fan with a 9 pin connector. Also this fan had been working for about 6 years, it has not been moved, this problem just started recently.
