Can you owe taxes if you claim 0 exemptions?
My gross yearly income in 2009 was $3,151. Federal income tax withheld was $84.33, Social Security withheld $195.38, Medicare tax withheld $45.69, and Oklahoma State tax withheld $10.00. I am single, and claimed 0 exemptions on my W-4. This was all for approx. 7 months... do any of these withholding numbers make any sense? Is my income low enough and is it enough withheld to not have to file taxes? Can you owe taxes if you claim 0 exemptions?

Even if you are a dependent, you do not have any taxable income. You will get back federal income tax withheld.

If you are not a dependent, you will get additional approx $190 as Making Work Pay credit. Attach schedule M with your return. Your U.S. Tax Return: What's New for 2009
