    Etching - Davril-
, too, have an etching by Davril. The label on the back says: ORIGINAL ETCHING Proof taken from a copper plate etching. The plate each time hand inked, hand painted, and printing done by hand. Published at a short limited edition, numbered and signed by the artist. Plate destroyed at the end.
By Davril______________at Paris, France. The Title is "The Old Quay"
I really don't care what it's worth, I just like it, and my question is, " Shall I remat and reframe it?" There isn't a mat now, but one could be added. The original frame is peeling and perhaps could be refinished. What do you think is best to do with it?

Sidney Lucas and the Paris Etching Society were renowned for their application of colors using aquatint in a manner that looks virtually identical to hand-applied watercolors
    About the Paris Etching Society:

The Paris Etching Society was founded by New York gallerist Sidney Zoltan Lucas. From 1928 through the 1950s, Lucas would travel from America to France in order to hand-select the artists he would publish under the PES name. Impressions made under this moniker typically include Lucas' initials in a triangle chop mark as well as mention of the Camilla Lucas Gallery, Sidney's gallery .
