    I connected a 110v cordless teleplhone to 220v power point . What will happen
    I connected a 110V cordless telephone to 220V power point. What will happen to my telephone insruments. Will get burnt. Or can we use the instrument?

    It will go "Poof" and you will let out all of the magic smoke. Once the smoke leaves, the unit will not function.

In general the question is what would happen (and why) if a 220V motor was powered by 110V. Not interested in the conversion wiring, say someone made a mistake and wired a 220v motor using 110V. My opinion is it would run slow, if at all, and eventually fail. Is this correct?
