3 Port FireWire IEEE 1394 What to buy?
    Hello:

I have a Panasonic digital camcorder. I want to hook it up to my compac presario 2100 laptop, but I don't have the 1394 connection on my laptop to hook up the cable from camcorder to laptop.

I know I have to buy the port (does it matter which brand?)
I have to buy the cable (that connects to camcorder to laptop)

And what program will it download on to when I turn the laptop and than the camcorder on after installing the above? Will it go to windows movie maker? Because I do want to edit and put cool features into the dvd I would eventually make.

Or would I turn on the laptop/than camcorder and than open it through a program?

My other question is I saw on eBay a cardbus 1394 3 port which includes the cable , how would I put the cardbus into the laptop? Is it the connection area on the side that could be for wireless stuff or other things? I already have a wireless built into my laptop but it has this slot on the side usually iv'e seen on laptops that would use a wireless card... can I insert my cardbus firewire into that slot??

    Confused. Thanks

    Rani

    Hi,

What's the exact model of your laptop? The 2100 does have 3 models, all of which include a firewire port, just on the left hand side near the floppy?
