    Hampton bay ceiling fan edgemont
We bought a Hampton Bay Edgemont ceiling fan a few months ago because it was cheap. My husband just installed it and we were extremely upset with the LED light! It is so dim we cannot read the manual even standing directly under the light. The room did not previously have an overhead fixture so the purpose in buying it was for the light with the bonus of having a fan. Can anyone tell me how to go about solving this problem? We called the company (Hampton Bay) and they basically said too bad, get some floor lamps. We cannot return it to Home Depot because it was bought over 4 months ago. What can I do? As far as we can tell it cannot be rewired to take a regular light bulb.

You should still be able to take it back, their return policy is often very liberal.

Another gentleman on this forum removed the LED lights and installed a regular light. If you search enough you should be able to find his thread with instructions.
