This smell just suddenly started, at first I thought it might have been from a dog I had, because he marked some, but it doesn't smell like pee it smells more like a poop smell (and I don't have the dog anymore). It started in the corner of the room the garage is on the other side of this wall, there is no water I know of close by just the garage and the crawl space. My husband went under the house and said he saw nothing in the area. I thought maybe something was dead under there but nothing was there. We have steam cleaned the area 2 times with no help, I even wonder if it has irritated the problem by doing the steam cleaning. Now the smell is worse and it seems to have started to spread across the wall area, it comes out about 2 feet from the wall, the smell has almost reached the length of the wall now. There is a hole in the floor for the cable and a breeze is blowing in from it, when I bent down this morning to see if it smelled in that area the breeze smelled so bad I almost lost my breakfast! I am very clean and I am going crazy trying to fix this problem, do you have any clue what could be causing it all?? Please help me.

Have you checked your heating system to see if a mouse might have died in there?

Sounds more like a sewer problem than a dead animal.
