    Mystery Moldy/Mildewing Smell in Bathroom
I live in a 2yr old DW MH. About two months ago this moldy/mildewy smell started coming from no where in the master bath. The toilet has been taken up - cannot pinpoint the smell there. I've smelled down the drain in the bathtub, which is garden, and nothing. I've smelled in the stand-alone shower and nothing. The shower and toilet are beside each other along a wall with the closet at the end of that wall. Took out the panel that goes to the shower to smell and check for leaks - nothing. Took out the panels below the tub to check for the same thing - nothing. The smell is most dominant when it rains... and it is where the toilet and the shower meet lol. There is carpet in the bathroom and linoleum where the toilet is. I've smelled the carpet and nothing there. I've checked the ceiling for signs of leakage - nothing. I've crawled on top the roof - caulked everything that looked like any rain could get in it. Still the smell is there. I've put metal hangers down the "stink pipe" for any clogs - nothing. I am totally out of ideas!

    Someone PLEASE help me :-)

    PLEASE

    Signed,

Desperate to get rid of this smell lol :-)

Even if you can't see anything there still can be mildew try cleaning with strong bleach and there might be mildew between the roof and the ceiling. Plus, you could just call a proffessional or to save money get a friend that knows about plumbing and mildew and if all else fails, use febreeze.

Did you check up in the attic to see if the smell came from there? You could have a open or leaky vent.

Sewer gas raises in dry warm air but descends in cooler damp air. The smellcould be coming from above you. Cheers, tom
