    Water supply burst
The outside condo water supply line burst; after the plumber repaired the pipe I ran the water in my unit - the toilet water was murky and filled with residue; the water eventually cleared in one toilet after many flushes. The 2nd toilet the water is murky and the water in the tank won't stop running; I found a part of the pipe in my washing machine (after I ran the washing machine). Was the plumber supposed to clear the line or do something to clear the pipe before he turned the water back on?

There isn't much a plumber can do. The piece of pipe could have been put in the pipe before the plumber started his repair.

Turning on a large faucet like a laundry sink until the water ran clear would have been your best bet.

On some toilet tank valves you can remove the top after shutting off the water. (make sure it's off) and then open the stop valve with something over the top to flush the debris out. Then re-assemble.

After a plumbing repair there is always possibility that dirt will go in to the fill valve of the toilet and it will cause the toilet running with no stop, please lift the toilet tank lid and see which type fill valve do you have see the images below, Thanks.

    No, plumber is not responsible.

Advice: install filter screens on your washing machine hoses.
