    Water pressure burst pipe?
Is it possible if when you shut service off at the meter and then turn it back on too quickly,it can cause your line to burst?

The pipes should not burst from normal house pressure of 40-45 psi but we don't know your pressure. Also, a weaken pipe from age or corrsion could be holding water but just at the point where it is ready to burst, that pipe can blow open when you open/close the main but not pipes in good condition.

No! 3/4" Schedule #40 PVC will withstand 240 PSI before it will burst. Regards, Tom

Hi--we had a leak in a hot water pipe in our basement--after the pipe was replaced we have lost our hot water pressure. The pipe is more narrow than the pipe that was originally there, could that be the problem?
