    Cant remember the movie title
    All I remember is the plot of the movie. I watched it back in the 90's.
    The main character (I think he was a journalist or detective or something) returns to where he grew up and starts looking into the case of a girl who went missing. His love interest in the movie is the daughter of the man convicted of killing the girl.
    The heroes mother was considered the town 'witch', and the heroes memories are the key to solving the mystery.
    It turns out the murdered girl was pregnant with the mayors baby and after being told that the dr wouldn't abort it she went to the 'witch' to perform the abortion, but the girl dies during the procedure. The witch then puts the girls shoes in the back of the convicted mans truck (The evidence that convicts him) then drives of a cliff with the dead girl.
    The hero, as a child suffers from an asthma attck and has to be driven in a car with his head out the window, I think in the movie he describes it as having vines tightening around his chest.
