How to repair a leak at a pvc and brass nut fitting
Up in the basement ceiling, a pvc pipe runs vertical up into what appears to be a brass nut type connection. The pvc has water running down it onto the floor. Looks like there should be some kind of seal around the pvc to prevent this from happening. The pvc end is terminated and free floating up in the brass nut fitting/flange.

Billy... If you can, post a picture of this fitting... OK? What fixture (tub, sink) does this pipe serve?

    Back to you...

Bathroom sink upstairs. Looks like a flange for the floor. A gooseneck is attached to the vertical pipe which terminates up into the flange/brassnut type fitting. The other end is a drain of copper pipe. Smaller in diameter, held together with rubber and pipe clamps.
