There can be more needed than just upgrading the panel.

Why do you think just the panel needs to be upgraded?

If you think more ampacity is needed, then the entire service entrance needs to be replaced.

Before a service entrance is replaced, a load calculation is needed, to determine the size service needed.

This is a complex issue, much more than just replacing the panel.

There is much to be considered, and your best advice may be to hire an electrical contractor to inspect your service and determine exactly what needs to be replaced and what size is needed.

I thought you did not know how panels are rated.

How do you know that a 200 amp service is adequate?

Then a complete new service entrance is needed, this includes the panel, metering, conduit aand wiring between panel and meter, and conduit and wire to the utility.

I am being vague, as I do not know if your service is overhead or underground.

The utility company must be consulted, as each has their own requirements of service attachment location, meter location, type of meter socket.

A permit is needed from your local town, city, or even state.
