    Trees growing under basement floor
My basement floor has bumps in every room. The concrete is flaking over and around these bumps. Could it be tree roots? Most of the trees in my yard have been cut down for several years. Can roots still grow? I have a large Manitoba Maple tree (about 60 ft tall, it is 2o feet from the house; the only other tree is the one with the small red berries.

If this is the problem, how can I fix it?

    Thanks, Lane

Your floor is already compromised and likely beyond spot repairs. Money is always and issue but the right thing to do is to remove the old concrete, insure correct bed is laid, remove ll roots and pour a new floor. I hope you know that the tree 2' from the house is going to continue to do damage to your home.

Is it 20feet or 2feet from house the Manitoba tree? And yes roots can still keep growing unless you get the stumps ground.

If the trees have been cut down for several years and are not resprouting, not likely the roots would grow. Roots need a source of sugar for energy to grow and that comes from leaves. Says 20 feet..

I have just received Three new trees. Two blue Spruce and a Silver Maple. All are about 2 foot high (includes roots), question is, should I plant them right into the ground now or plant them in a pot and let them mature a little bit (and if so, how long)? Thanks for the time.:)
