Gurgling pipes when washer drains into sump pump in basement
When the washing machine emptys into the sump pump, the drain in our kitchen (upstairs) gurgles. It is very loud and disruptive. What is causing it and how do we fix it? There is no water backing up into sink or foul odor.

I bought a house out in the country. My washing machine is in the basement and drains into the sump pump. The washing machine water is then pumped out to a drainage ditch. Is there anything I should be worried about. I've live in the house for a year and haven't had any problems... just curious.
Hello, My washer drains into the sump pump and I don't want it to. What will we need to do in order for it drain separately? The house originally had a septic tank, but was changed to sewer about 10 years ago. Hope this is enough info for you.
I have a sewer pump in basement in which half bath and washer empty into. When sewer pump ejects there is a gurgling sound coming from kitchen sink directly above on first floor. Any idea what causes this?
