    Well, it's in the form of a cross. The white, red, yellow and black areas will take a bit of investigating to see what they might mean.

    Just because it is a symbol does not mean that it means anything religious.

    My guess is that it's pagan. The cross is the four directions of the compass. The colors are the four elements; earth, air, water, and fire. I don't use those particular colors to represent the elements, so I can't remember which color goes with which element. Each element will also correspond with one of the directions.

    I have seen symbols similar to that in a pagan setting.

    It may also just be something they thought was pretty or interesting.
