    AC/Heater
Came home from work, The compressor outside is not running the fan inside is running. Turned the unit "off"and in the auto mode at the thermostat, fan is still running inside. I had to turn off at the breaker to make it shut off. Why? I'm afraid of fire.

Don't worry about fire, the fan in the air handler is designed to run 24/7. As to why it is running, there are a bunch of reasons many of which are perfectly normal. Unless you can give us more specific information on your system and why you think this is abnormal behavior, there isn't much we can help you with other than to say "call a repairman".

Likely a fan control with fused contacts.

Good Call. Repairman replaced a green board because the fan contact was burned. He had to do "some re-wireing" with replaced board. Worked well for 1 night, thermestat is OFF, fan running, heat strips working. What is wrong now?
