    Do not want or deserve a divorce.
    I have been married for only a few months to an alcoholic. We have been separated for almost a month. I do not want to get a divorce, do I have to?

    No, you don't have to, but there are some pretty compelling reasons it's usually a bad idea to stay married to an alcoholic that you're separated from. First and foremost is that you are legally responsible for any debts s/he incurrs.

    Well does the other party want a divorce, if the other party files for divorce, you can slow it up, but you can't stop it. So if they want to divorce you, they will get a divorce.

    But I will say, why did you marry a alcoholic, if already after a few months you are separated, does that not say somethng.

    But deserve? You marry a known alcoholic ( assuming that is the separation issues) not sure you don't we often deserve the result of our actions.
