Double oven/cooktop wiring

 Hello everyone, I am in the process of adding a double wall oven to our kitchen,and I was just curious about a few things.OK the cooktop spec plate says 120/208 volts 4.7kw ,not sure but I don't think I worry about the 208 v markings.Correct me if I am wrong. I am in USA. Next it says 120/240...

 So, I have a little wiring issue... I reached a snag when I came to install my wall oven, I am using a three wire system and when I looked at the installation guide it suggested that I should have black, white and red wires. I only have two black and one white... Where do I go from here? I...

I want to know, is it okay to wire my new freestanding oven/range using 8/3 wire to the existing 10/3 wiring in the wall on the existing 40 amp breaker.
