    Replacing Bathtub/Shower Water Valve
I need to replace the water valve for our bathtub/shower. The only access from the back has to be made by cutting a hole in our bedroom wall. Can the valve be replaced from the tub side. The hole in the tub is approximately six inches in diameter. Thank you.

No, you don't have enough space to do it from inside of the tub area.

Do this: Cut 14x14 hole in the bedroom, do the work and either patch the wall or buy plastic, snap-in, access door. You can get it in Home Depot for about $15.00. (see the pic) . Paint over the door to match paint color of the wall.

Sounds like a very good solution. Thank you
