    Basement bathroom odor
The basement bath odor is not exactly coming from the bathroom. It is from the tank(? ) area behind the wall. The smell (where the tank is) travels out a closet to one room. Sometimes I can smell it in my foyer, which is on the first floor above the closet area where the tank is. -------- It smells sewery. We do put that recommended cleaner in the toilet. I've cleand around the tank with bleach & water, it was OK for a few days, now its back. I didn't know if there is something I can do, or just call a plumber. Any tips?

It smells as if it could be a broken sewer line. Perhaps before you have to mortgage the kids to pay the plumber you could remove the panel to see if it is from the tank, or to check if there is any seepage, leakage, etc.

If you cannot positively locate the source of the odour, then you need to get a recommendation from friends for a good, efficient, and honest plumber.
