    Answering a civil summons
I only have about three days to answer a summons. I had a credit card with Bank of America. I was paying great until 2006 when I was diagnosed with cancer. I had to go for treatment, out of state. 3 times per week and all of my bills fell behind. I admit I owe the debt, however, they sold the account to a firm in Winston Salem, NC and they are suing me for $1000.00 more than what BOA reported on my credit report. How can I respond to the summons. I can't afford an attorney I am still trying to maintain what I have now and keep from being under so much stress Please help.

Your best bet would be to try and arrange payments outside of court. Contact the firm that is suing you, get something in writing from them before you send them a dime.

When is the court hearing scheduled for?

I don't really have a answer to your question, but a question of my own. How do you give a "written response to the court" I have only a couple of days to do this.
