    Household dryer
    I exchanged a 3 prong to a 4 prong on my dryer and am not sure how to ground it, if I touch the washer and dryer at the same time I get shocked-maybe pretty dangerous to my health?:eek: thanks laura

    Your post is confusing. Can't determine from your post if your outlet is 4 prong or 3 or the dryer is 4 prong or 3.

    In any event, here are some pictures:

    A 3 prong outlet contains a ground and the "bonding jumper" in the above link should stay in place.

    If you have a 4 prong outlet, the bonding jumper should be removed and green should be attached to the green screw.

    Neutral should go to the terminal opposite of the grounding screw.
