If a person has been charged with a crime but not convicted yet, does it show up on a background report?

    Hello t:

It depends... If the person or institution REALLY wants to know about you, they'll find out... But, if the institution is just McDonald's trying to find out if you're qualified to flip burgers, then they probably won't.

There is no such thing as a "background check"... There's really good background checks that cost a lot of money... And, there's the not so good background checks that might even be free.

Depends on who is running the background check and the purpose - as Excon said, some are a lot more thorough than others.
