    Heating problems
I'm not quite sure if it's the heating itself or the thermostat or maybe me not using it properly. So the thermostats in my apartment are quite old. They turn on when you hear the click, the problem is that it will only click when it is at 25 degrees. I just bought myself a thermometer for the house and it says the house is around 15 degrees. We want it at 20 degrees. What I've noticed is if I "pull" the knob towards me I can make it click but the heating won't come on for very long.

If this is an apartment who is in charge of maintaining the heat? There could be limiters on the thermostats to prevent to high a temperature especially if the landlord is paying for the heat.

If the thermostats will not adjust to the heat level you want then you will need to purchase new thermostats that you can adjust higher.

I have a very old GE gas furnace model # BLU080E924B1 that doesn't want to work on auto. Thermostat seems fine, but unit won't run unless I connect gas valve and blower directly. I installed a new relay, new fan/limit control and new transformer. I don't understand why it doesn't work on auto.
