My Chevy has been having "trouble" with the trip & odom meter. It will look like it's written in an alien language, but will turn back to normal. Now, the right turn signal is blinking double-time and does not blink on the rear of the car, but does in the front. And, the auto driving lights are not on. Could all of this be a related electrical problem? Is there anything a non-mechanic (like me) do to fix it?

    1) The instrument cluster may be losing a soldered connection or becoming delaminated.

    2) A rapid flash is usually simply an open bulb. You said it was the rear... that bulb should be replaced and test the signals again.

    3) When you say "Auto Driving Lights" do you mean the Daytime Running Lights on the front? Do both the high and low beam headlamps function properly? There is a chance the relay has become stuck, but that system operates through various other components. Try cycling the beam select switch through all it's positions quickly and check the lamps again.

For complete diagnosis, bring your vehicle to a qualified repair shop. Ask about diag fees upfront and ask about their credentials and warrantees.
